Collection every couple of days #11

Hi Everone,
Swap cards we all had them as kids! We begged our parents for money to go to the newsagents to buy more ,your popularity was determined by how many and which cool ones you had, oh the stress! I never had very many and lots were hand me downs from my sister, clearly not cool!
So for me swapping was out of the questions ( I was always more obsessed with Barbie anyway!)
So again these are fairly recent some from garage sales, but mostly from a huge lot that my Michael picked up ,many of which after he had sold some gave the rest to me which I quite happily used for my pricing tickets. Then I discovered that people were stealing my tickets for the cards! So in the end I just kept the ones I likes mostly beautiful Vintage lady's.

There is a pink 1970s in the first row 4 th down which I really wanted as a kid .when it was finally bought for me by my ever suffering mum ,they were out of fashion!
Still got your from when you were a kid?

A Collection every couple of days #10

Hi Everyone,
Vintage cosmetic boxes, there's just something about them! Beautiful graphics pleasing feminine colours ticks all the boxes really.
I have been collecting these on an off for years,I would collect a whole lot of them then decide they were dust Collectors,or move house and off they would go to the shop and when they sold I would be full of disappointment and start collecting more! Yep I can hear you thinking your nuts (possibly right there!) anyway this lot has been with me for around six years and I think there a nice bunch, as I clean the dust off them again and think maybe its time to move them on!

Just joking! Cheers Lyn

A collection every couple of days #9

Hi Everyone,
These beautiful women are one of my favourites they sit in my bedroom and hold all of my hair flowers because of courses you need hair flowers!
They are called lady head vases and are supposed to be valuable however mine are all cracked and broken ,but to me it adds to their charm.
The three larger lady's were from a market in the city about three years ago and the girl who was selling them only wanted around $10 for each of them ,I was in love!
The other two have come from estates over the last year, which my beloved has given to me.

They are so regal, polished and of course fully made up,just lovely like the 1950s lady I want to be!

Collection every couple of days #8

Hi Everyone,
We have all had stockings in our lives, however when my corporate life ended and I started working for myself,I never wore stockings again (thank goodness) well not everyday anyway
.this little collection is a fairly resent acquisition . We cleaned out a house of  a lady who had suffered terribly in the depression and had a life long habit of keeping everything (and I mean everything ). So every piece of packaging that came into the house was kept.
So these are some of the stocking packets and advertising inserts that came with them, she also kept all the bags that they came in. All beautifully kept and neatly filed away .

I have sold many of the unopened packets but I just couldn't part with these, like many of my collections they have no monetary value  I just like them.

Collection every couple of days #7

Hi everyone,
This collection came along quite by accident as these guys found me rather than the other way around.
they just kept turning up at estates ,garage sales and opp shops .
They are for all different types of things ,sovereign cases calling card holders hairpins ,men's studs vesper cases and so on.
so they were probably used every day in one way or another
.I think I like them because they were such a personal item and well worn ,used and loved.
Do you have an items that are loved like these?

Collection every couple of days #6

Hi Everyone,
Petit pont bags have always been a favourite ,and I started collecting when I was a teenager as I wanted something to fit lipgloss ,money, bits and bobs on nights out with friends.there were lots available back then in opp shops.
I've now grown to appreciate their unique designs, some flowers ,some a scene and there beautiful construction and clasps.
My collection changes as I find more mostly at estates, but there is a few favourites  that stay and don't go to another home.
So are you a collector ? Tell me about what you collect.

Collection every couple of days #5

Hi Everyone,
Lets talk about Sunglasses, I have had a difficult relationship with sunglasses over the years ,and for a long time could not find anything that worked on my face .I have had expensive ray bans chep $20 specials and hand me downs from friends. Then one day at a garage sale I found some cats eyes and I was hooked .Then luckily my friend Tess started To catch a thief sunglasses, which are fabulos reproduction sunnies.so back to the collection, its not a large collection but there are quite a few vintage ones ,a particular favourite, are the black ones with the diamanté trim which I'm told came from dame Edna Everedges collection.
There the sparkly ones in the middle, a gift from my beloved!
Do you have sunnies that evoke a memory or a particular favourite ?

Hi Everyone,
Collecting things for me harks back to childhood and today's collection is definitely that.
These books are a beautiful example of 1960s sentiments . The illustrations are what got me addicted to them as a child ,idyllic settings pretty children and clothes ,I spent hours just looking at the pictures.I have not got all of them yet and continue to look.
Do you have a favourite that you loved as a child ?
